On Friday night we had the pleasure of watching this little guy

(don't worry - I let him tear up this old phone book)

so that these two

could go on this birthday suprise.

It's always so much fun for us to have Sterling! Having him overnight gave me my first "real" taste of motherhood and contrary to what others might think about taking a baby overnight that's not yours - it didn't make me any less excited to have my own. :)

Today

-I did not go to work

- I slept in :)

- I went to coffee with Sarah and Lynds

- I played with Sterling

-And after weeks of contemplating...I went short!

Sterling's first babysitter :)

Tonight I was lucky enough to be Sterling Officer's first babysitter. Sarah and Justin are super busy this weekend with students moving in and freshman orientation, so I watched him for a few hours this evening while they were out and about. For those of you who know of my love for babies, I obviously didn't mind spending my evening hanging out with this adorable little guy. It seems sort of funny to be posting pictures of someone else's baby on my blog, but he's just so darn cute...I couldn't resist.

I also want to add that he is the best baby I've ever been around. He was happy the whole time, barely made a peep, slept when he was supposed to, ate when he was supposed to and smiled at me more than once! I'll watch him anytime you need, Sarah! :)

What a good day!

Top 5 Reasons why I had a good day:

1) The sun was out! It hasn't shown itself in the past couple weeks and I was starting to get a little irritated with the weather so it was such a blessing to soak up a little sun.

2) Brett and I went to the driving range this afternoon and hit a few golf balls. I had a couple really good shots...which was a good thing, cause for those of you who know how competitive I can be, it's vital that these good shots happen. Otherwise, I wouldn't go back to the driving range ever again. (I know, I know...poor sportsmanship).

3) We went over to a friends' house for dinner and were able to catch up with some people we've been out of touch with for awhile. I had a burger...Brett had 2...or was it 3? :)

4) Knowing that I don't have to go to work tomorrow makes this an awesome day! I am leaving for Phoenix tomorrow for my sister's wedding. She is getting married on June 13 and I get to spend the whole week in Phoenix away from work and with my family for this fun occasion!

5) Even though I'm putting this last on the list, it was by far the best part about today: My best friend Sarah, and her husband Justin, delivered a beautiful baby boy this afternoon at 12:19 - Sterling Wade Officer, 6lb. 10 oz., 19 inches long and completely healthy. It was such a joy to watch the two of them with their son and I know they are going to make the best parents ever!
